REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR NEW CADETS

Location: 

We meet at Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre (253220 Bearspaw Rd, Calgary, AB T3L 2P5, Canada) on Thursday nights,  

  • 1830 - Typical arrival time

  • 1845 - Fall In parade and roll call

  • 1900 - Start of training

  • 2100 - Fall Out Parade and dismissal (parents should plan to attend this as it is where announcements are provided and special presentations are made)

What to bring / what to wear:

  • White shirt/black dress pants (if possible) - new cadets will eventually be measured and fitted for uniforms

  • Comfortable indoor closed toed shoes (the school requires that we change our shoes at the entrance)

  • Pen/pencil and notepad that fits in a pocket for writing down announcements at the end of the night and for taking notes in class

  • Water bottle

  • Cash for canteen (eventually canteen will be up and running with snacks and drinks cadets can purchase at break)

2023 Cadet Applications

We are NOT accepting applications for the 2023-2024 training year as we are full. Please check back in June with regard to availability for the 2024/2025 training year.

Acronyms

Air cadets officers and cadets use a lot of acronyms during parade and other cadets activites.  The document below can assist you in translating most of them.

SQuadron SPONSORING email distribution

The squadron and officers are unable to share contact information with the squadron sponsoring committee (SSC).  Monthly SSC meeting agendas and minutes are circulated by email. You are strongly encouraged to ensure you are added to the SSC email distribution list. Please click on the button below and complete the form to be added to the email distribution list.

Squadron SPONSORING COMMITTEE (SSC)

The parent squadron sponsoring committee is responsible to provide the Commanding Officer , Officers and Cadets with the resources they need to conduct optional training and opportunities in the community. It is the SSC’s responsibility to provide the funding for many of the activities directly or indirectly that impact the Cadets.
